1. Alderton around Dumbleton Hill

5.5 miles/3 hours

For walks that start from Alderton, Gloucestershire, you can’t do much better than this classic trail starting at the Gardener’s Arms. The route takes you up and around Dumbleton Hill, giving you plenty of open farmland to enjoy and even views across to Bredon Hill and the Malverns.

 

2. Alderton Hill Circular

3.8 miles/ 2 hours 30 mins

A shorter variation on the classic walk around Alderton Hill. This walk from Alderton follows a mix of popular paths and tracks, providing a well signposted and well-maintained route through the local countryside. Top off this Alderton circular walk with some refreshments at the Gardeners Arms and you’ve got the perfect afternoon out.

 

3. The Full Winchcombe Way Western Loop

20.5 miles / All day

The biggest challenge presented by any of the walks from Alderton is completing the Full Winchcombe Way. By joining in Alderton, you’ll wander through various villages and climb some of the most iconic hills in the region before returning home. This is a challenging, but rewarding walk from Alderton, taking you up to Cleeve Hill, Nottingham Hill and other notable Cotswolds spots on the way.
